General Information
Over-the-phone support for HyFlex and other mediated classrooms is offered through the Help Desk, with on-site technical assistance provided by Office of Information Technology technicians stationed in academic and administrative buildings throughout campus.
Hybrid Flexible (HyFlex) courses are delivered both in-person and online at the same time by the same faculty member. Retrofitting existing CMU classrooms to be "HyFlex ready" is an initiative that started in the summer 2020 months to have rooms ready for fall 2020 semester instruction, and efforts to improve this experience in the classroom will continue as long as the HyFlex model of instruction is offered.
Support and dispatch service for the Hyflex, mediated, and computer equipment installed is available from 8AM to 9PM, Monday through Thursday, and 8AM to 5PM on Friday. Depending on their location on campus when an urgent technical support request is made from a classroom, the typical dispatch time for technician response is 5-10 minutes from when the call was placed.
