This article will assist an instructor in creating a new replacement Blackboard test for an individual student (i.e. a version of the test which does not require use of LDB/Monitor). By following the steps below, the instructor will create a new test for one (or more) students and make the test available to only those students using the Test Availability Exception settings. The new test should NOT be included in the Gradebook calculations. This is to prevent students who are NOT taking this test from being penalized. Once the new test has been completed and graded, the instructor will need to manually enter the new grade directly in the original test's gradebook column if this test is a replacement for an existing test.
- From the location in the course where the desired test resides, click the Purple Plus > Copy Content. Search for the course you are in, locate the test, and make a copy of it in the course.
- Rename the duplicate copy of the assessment to omit confusion. Consider adding the name of the student this test is for to the name to clearly identify it.
- Next, select the Release Conditions for the exam and choose to release the test to the student in need by checking Specific Members or Groups, then locating the student needed, Save. Confirm the entire class cannot see the duplicate exam you just created by entering into Student Preview Mode then navigating to where the exam is located.
