General Information
In addition to workstations located within Park Library, there are smaller labs located throughout campus that provide an academic-friendly environment for CMU students to conduct research, complete homework assignments, and carry out electronic communication. While Park Library is situated to provide more publicly-accessible options, smaller labs may be restricted and only available to students and faculty pursuing specific areas of study.
State-of-the-art instructional and student technology labs equipped with Mac and PC workstations, printers, and scanners are strategically located throughout the campus to provide easy access for students and faculty with valid CHIP cards and Global IDs. Many instructional student labs operate extended daily hours and weekends. There is also the availability to use the Virtual Lab.
Virtual Lab
CBA and OIT have collaborated to provide the Virtual Lab service. Accessible anywhere, this virtual desktop allows access to specialized software, your UDrive, and printing through the PrintQ service. Check the configuration instructions to access the Virtual Lab from your personal computer!
CMU Libraries
The CMU Library offers more than 400 computers for use by students and staff. The computers feature a range of software for class and research purposes. In addition to the computers provided, the Park Library offers wireless access throughout the building. Printing is provided through the university’s PrintQ system. The library also offers a number of scanners, and a wide range of technology, including laptops, digital cameras, data projectors, and calculators, can be borrowed from the Checkout Desk on the 2nd floor.
