Global ID Account Security Protection and Deactivations

General Information

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) has a number of security measures in place to help protect the account information of all faculty, staff, students, and alumni. If potential suspicious activity is detected, OIT will take action to help protect the integrity of the affected account, as well as other CMU users that may be impacted by any malicious activity generating from the affected account. Though actions taken will vary by each individual security-related event, in many cases, OIT will deactivate access to affected accounts, forcing the account owner to take steps to re-gain access to their re-secured account.
