SharePoint Team Sites

General Information

SharePoint provides users the tools to be more productive through tight integration with other major Microsoft Office products. In addition to SharePoint 2013’s standard capabilities, OIT offers these additional features with CMU Team Sites: 

  • An infrastructure designed for high availability, secure access, and content protection, including virtualized load balanced servers, 24/7 monitoring, and nightly content backups. 
  • 10GB of storage space per site collection. Additional space can be made available for a fee. 
  • Document management capabilities such as versioning, records retention, automated filing, and document-centric workflow. 
  • Both classic SharePoint 2010 workflow features and the new SharePoint 2013 workflow features. 
  • Integration with Microsoft Office Web Apps, which allows users to edit Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF documents within the browser on most devices. 
  • Microsoft Project Server 2013 provides integration with the Microsoft Office Project client application as well as fully functional, cross-browser Project Web Applications for tracking projects on the web. 
  • Microsoft InfoPath Forms Service for highly functional, custom forms that can submit to SharePoint lists, external web services, SQL Server, and much more.
