Student Learning & Licensure (SLL) Integration into a Blackboard Course

Adding SL&L Activities to a Blackboard Course

Select courses in CEHS use Student Learning & Licensure (SLL) to collect and compile scores earned on assessments in Blackboard course shells.  To add SLL activities to a Blackboard Course follow the steps provided below.

  1. From the desired course in Blackboard, navigate to the Content tab for your course
  2. From where you wish to have the SLL link added to your course, click the purple plus + icon, then Content Market

3. Scroll down to the list of Institution Tools and find the Student Learning & Licensure card (cards are in alphabetical order), then click the plus icon. This will add a link to the Content page of your course.

Once the link has been added to the Content Tab, click the three dots to the right of the link and click Edit Activity. From here you can:

  • Change the title of the link
  • Select Visible to Students
  • Check the Create Gradebook entry for this item if you wish to add the SLL link to the Bb Gradebook.  If checked, you can then enter in a due date, point values, and assign the link to a Grade Category.
  • Click Save

Next, click on the SLL link to add an activity to Blackboard.  Choose the Specific Activity option:

SLL Activity Selection Screen

Choose a course section and activity from SL&L, and click SELECT & SAVE in the upper right corner of the page:

A Success message will display on the page. Click RETURN TO LMS. Clicking the SLL link on the Content page in your Blackboard course will now take you directly to the SL&L activity.

Direct Access to SLL (No Bb Activity Links)

Students can also access SLL outside of Blackboard.  Doing so will not transfer scores earned on graded activities back to the Bb Gradebook.  Instructions on how to access SLL directly are attached to this tutorial and can be downloaded and added to your course for student use if desired.
