Effective October 2024, the steps required to change passwords for CMU Staff Members has been updated. As such, below are the methods by which CMU Staff Members can reset their password.
Forgot Password Option at cmich.edu
This option is preferred if you have previously set your security question, as it is the quickest.
To set your security question, please visit: https://cmich.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/664/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?ID=19975
- Close all browser tabs, then open a new session and navigate to cmich.edu
- Find the “Forgot your password?” link, and click “Reset it here!”
- Fill out the information requested for the system to verify your identity
- Answer your security question, and enter your new password following the requirements listed on the right
- If at this step you get an error stating your security question cannot be found, please contact the Help Desk at 989-774-3662
Calling the Help Desk
This option is preferred if you do not have a security question set, or in any other circumstance. The process that must be followed for Staff password resets is as follows.
- Call the Help Desk at 989-774-3662.
- Explain you are a staff member looking for a password reset.
- The 1st level Help Desk technician will escalate your ticket and set expectations with you. Namely, our 2nd level team will be in contact shortly to work with you to resolve this.
- In the past, these requests were able to be completed by 1st level technicians. However, due to security concerns related to elevated system access, this is the process that must be followed.
- A 2nd level technician will contact you, and reset your password over the phone.
