Partial Credit Overview
When you enable partial credit, a portion of the total points for a test question is awarded when an answer isn't entirely correct.
You can enable partial credit when you create or edit some question types. Partial credit is available only for Multiple Answer or Matching question types.
The partial credit option doesn't appear for pools and surveys.
Adding the Partial Credit Option
To access and modify any question settings first edit the test as shown below.
Select the 3 dots menu to edit a specific question:
Instructors can turn on partial and negative credit. This option allows instructors to:
- Define a positive percentage value to award credit for a correct answer(s)
- Enter a negative percentage value to subtract for an incorrect answer(s)
- Allow a negative overall score for the question
