Perceptive Content: Error - A script is trying to attach to the GUI

Error

When using an application plan that pulls information from SAP, the user is prompted with a message saying:

A script is trying to attach to the GUI.

 

Cause

This is caused by a security setting in the SAP application designed to notify users when other applications attempt to extract information. In some cases, multiple scripts will run, thus causing the user to click OK on several message boxes in order to perform the desired Perceptive Content task.

 

Solution

NOTE: This a localized user setting, and will need to be configured again on each computer the user uses to access SAP.

  1. Open SAP GUI
     
  2. Click Customize Local Layout
     
  3. Click Options

 
  1. Open Accessibility & Scripting > Scripting
    ​​​​​​​
  2. Under User Settings, uncheck the following:
    • Notify when a script attaches to SAP GUI
    • Notify when a script opens a connection
    • Show native MS Windows dialogs
