Blackboard Publisher: Third Party Building Block Support Contacts

Below is a list of all Publisher/3rd Party Building Blocks currently installed in Blackboard, including support telephone numbers/websites. In many cases, the most expedient way for faculty and students to resolve an issue will be for them to contact the Publishers Tech Support directly. However, some basic informational/troubleshooting steps have been included below, when available.

Instructor is unsure how to pair Bb course to McGraw Hill
  • Click Tools>>McGraw Hill>>Login w/Account.
  • From drop-down list, select Management as subject, look for Organizational Behavior customized textbook (blue) . Set up section (course name+ID).
Unable to select the destination folder when creating a McGraw-Hill Assignment. Requires Bb System Admin to make a global configuration setting change, or as workaround, instructor can access the content area where they wish to deploy your McGraw-Hill content and start the process from there.
Some McGraw Hill student quiz scores not transferring back to Bb Grade Center. This indicates students did not register through Bb. Each student will need to access an assignment from Bb in order to sync and activate the integration. Instructor can hit sync button once everyone has logged in through Bb.​

Pearson My Labs/Mastering

 

Instructor receives error (code url1) when attempting to integrate MyLabs product Verify course name not over 32 characters, with no trailing/leading spaces.
Instructor linked to the wrong Pearson content, needs to unlink course
MyMathLab is directing to student's previously dropped section, not correct section. Pearson course associations for MTH/STA courses are updated once daily around 9:30 a.m.
Unable to login/access Pearson or getting prompted to enter a course ID.
  • Verify using link within Bb to access Pearson or https://portal.mypearson.com/login
  • Verify they are not using CMU global ID/password, need separate Pearson credentials. (Note: MyLabs Plus is used in STA282, MTH105, MTH055 courses and is pre-populated with student data so sudents in these courses do not have to register for a Pearson account and can access the Pearson materials thru Bb link.
Student used wrong/old access code, unable to remove/update. Must be reset on Pearson's side, student should use LiveChat to report issue.
Instructor's account code registers as having been already used. This can occur if multiple Pearson accounts are set up for the same person. Pearson Support will need to correct.
Student needs link to access Pearson etextbook. First choice is to use Pearson link in Bb shell, if n/a use: http://www.pearsonetext.com
Receiving Error Code:105
Message: Unknown LoginId
This usually means the course hasn't yet been associated with a MyLabs product yet. Instructors can follow these steps:
  1. Under the Control Panel area, expand the Course Tools area.
  2. Click Pearson's MyLab & Mastering.
  3. Click "Select a Pearson MyLab & Mastering product to use in this course.
  4. Agree to the Licensing Agreement.
  5. When prompted, use the pull-down menu to select previous course and copy it.
