Accessing the Application
The Genetec Web Application can be accessed via browser by going to the following link: https://it-gen-roles-1.central.cmich.local/SecurityCenter/. To log in, either select “Sign in with CMU Single Sign On” (1) or enter your username and password (2). When entering your username and password in this way, you will need to enter the domain before your global ID by using the format, “CENTRAL\your_GID”.
Viewing Video
The Genetec Web App uses a tile interface to display camera feeds on your screen. To change your tile pattern, select the “change tile pattern” button in the top right corner, and select the pattern that fits your use case.
To view the cameras which you have access to, select the “Browse” button (1), expand “IT-GEN-DIR” (2), and expand the Building Area where the camera you want to view is located (3). To view a camera, double-click any in the list (4) or drag and drop it onto a tile.
NOTE: You can double-click the tile at any time to full-screen this camera feed.
With the camera in the Tile View, we are able to watch the live feed of the lens. To review recorded footage, we can select the button on the bottom of the camera feed that says “Live”. This will bring up a calendar that displays instances where footage was recorded. Refer to the legend for the exact meaning of each timestamp (1). We can look at different dates by either hitting one of the arrows (2) are changing the Date and Time (3). We can select anywhere that is marked on the timeline to review the recording at that time (4).
We can now see that the timeline of our video feed has updated to show what point and time we are looking at:
We can use the control bar at the bottom of the timeline to jump around the recording. We can drag the timeline to go forward or backward in time (1), we can play or pause the video (2), or jump forward to our live view (3).
