At Central Michigan University (CMU), different types of user accounts are provided to support access to systems and services based on an individual's role and affiliation with the university. Account Type

Faculty/Staff – Active employees of the university who are granted access to work-related systems, email, and campus resources.

Emeriti – Retired faculty or staff who have been granted emeritus status, retaining limited access to email and select university systems.

Student – Individuals currently enrolled in academic programs, with access to course materials, university email, and student services.

Alumni – Former students who have graduated and retain access to select alumni services and resources.

Limited – Temporary or specialized accounts created with restricted access to specific systems.
