Reviewing Rubrics in Blackboard Ultra (Student View)

Overview

Your instructors may utilize rubrics to enter specific grades and feedback for your assignments, tests, discussion forums, and journals. If your instructor has chosen to grade with a rubric, you may access it for further review.

Guide

1. Enter your course, locate your graded activity of choice, and click on it.

2. If you are selecting a test or assignment, you will see an overview of the basics regarding the graded activity on the right side of your screen. Select “View Instructions” to read the assignment instructions and details.

Note: This menu will not appear for discussions or journals.

3. On the right side of your screen, you will see a space labeled “Details and Information”. If this activity features a rubric, you will see blue text reading “This item is graded with a rubric”. Click on this blue text to continue.

4. Here, you may review each category and its associated percentage, point total, or letter grade. In the example rubric above, the instructor is grading based on thoroughness, evidence, creativity, and presentation.

5. Clicking on any of the titles will display the requirements to earn each score in the relative category. The category that is being displayed above is thoroughness. You can see three sets of standards (exemplary, proficient, and adequate), a description of what defines each of the said standards, and the associated score (6, 4.5, and 3).
