In order to maintain the safety and security of your CMU-designated Mac computer, OS updates and security patches must be applied in a timely manner (in accordance with the Workstation Secure Configurations Policy). These updates range from minor security patches to complete OS upgrades, both of which you will be prompted to run when applicable.
These prompts come directly from OIT, through the management system used for your device, and will be CMU-branded whenever possible. These notifications may come in the form of a pop-up window, or a small notification in a corner of your screen. Following the instructions within these notifications will best ensure a smooth update/upgrade process.
