Class Conversations in Blackboard Ultra (Student View)

This guide pertains to Ultra Course View.

If your course is in Original Course View, see the Original Course View tutorial collection.

Explanation

Class conversations can appear under any assignment or assessment and allows students to discuss or ask questions regarding the current project. Class conversations do not appear as an option to students unless enabled by the instructor.

Procedure

First, find your assignment of choice.

Clicking on the assignment title will open a new tab that displays details about the assignment. If class conversations are enabled for the given assignment, a speech bubble icon will appear in the top-right corner of the tab.

Clicking on the speech bubble icon will take you to a new page. Here, you may ask questions or communicate about the assignment. Clicking the “respond” option will make you message available to the instructor and other students.

When a classmate, instructor, or teaching assistant has responded to your post, a blue icon will appear next to the assignment title in the content area.

Following the procedure above, enter the class conversations option to view any responses to your post. You may reply to responses and other posts if needed.
