What is the Assist Module?
The Assist module found on the Blackboard homepage provides a collection of CMU-provided student-facing services and resources relating to academic success, health and mental well-being, or financial assistance.
Resources and services are listed in alphabetical order and include a brief description of the item. Clicking on the title of the resource/service passes the user to the website associated with that item for more information.
Ally File Transformer
Included with the CMU services listed in Bb Assist is a Blackboard tool called Ally File Transformer which helps personalize the learning experience by converting files into alternative formats to better fit user needs, devices, and learning preferences.
- Ally File Transformer allows students to convert course files, their own files, and files they've found via research or project work.
- Ally File Transformer converts digital files to alternative, more accessible formats, including HTML, ePub, electronic braille, audio, BeeLine reader, as well as to a PDF that’s undergone optical character recognition (OCR).
