Perceptive Content: Fixing the Save As Dialogue when using the ImageNow Printer Install and Repair

Via Software Center

NOTE: The virtual printer for Perceptive Content is called the ImageNow Printer.

 

Via ImageNow Client Setup

NOTE: These steps assume that the ImageNow client has already been installed.

  1. Copy \\ImageNow-prd\client\current\ClientSetup_xxx.exe to the users desktop and run as Administrator, where xxx is the latest version number
  2. Choose Next, then Modify
  3. On the next screen click the arrow next to ImageNow Printer and select This feature will be installed on local hard drive
  4. Click Next, then Install

 

The ImageNow Printer should now be installed.

  1. Copy \\ImageNow-prd\client\PrinterFiles\ImageNowPrinter.zip to the users desktop and unzip it
  2. Run SetupImageNowPrinter.exe as Administrator

 

The ImageNow Printer should now be installed.

 

Fixing the Save As Dialogue when using the ImageNow Printer

Occasionally a user will receive a Save As dialogue box when attempting to print via the ImageNow Printer. This is the result of either a corrupt Inowprint.ini file or a missing registry entry. You should first attempt to uninstall and reinstall the application. If that fails, follow these steps to manually fix the problem.

  1. Check if an inowprint.ini file was created in C:\Program Files (x86)\ImageNow\etc. If not, grab the file from \\ImageNow-prd\client and put it in that directory
  2. Run regedit.exe as Administrator and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers\ImageNow Printer\PrinterDriverData
  3. Create a new string
    • Name: Scripting File
    • Value: C:\Program Files (x86)\ImageNow\etc\inowprint.ini
  4. Exit out of Regedit. The ImageNow printer should be installed and working
