Perceptive Content: Scanner Hardware Information

High Volume Scan Station

For high volume scanning, we recommend the Fujitsu fi-6240 scanner for around $1,000.

A scan station license is approximately $1,800.00 the first year with a $350.00 yearly maintenance cost over the life of the license.

If interested, please first submit Perceptive Content System regarding available licenses. Once licensing has been confirmed, contact Judy Lannen in Purchasing to order hardware.

Low Volume Scanning

For lower volume scanning, the more economical recommendation is a Fujitsu ScanSnap IX500 desktop scanner for around $500.

This scanner does not require any licenses and utilizes a software Scan to a Printer option to print to the ImageNow Printer for capturing documents. This option does have a lower quality than the higher end fi-6240 but is sufficient for legible document imaging.

For purchase inquiries, contact your local tech support team.

Alternatives Using Existing Scanning Hardware

For low volume scanning in departments with existing scanning hardware (such as an office printer or flatbed scanner), documents can be scanned to a file and captured into Perceptive Content using the ImageNow printer or file import capture methods.

Please note that while these are valid scanning options that the Perceptive Content team can work with you to utilize, we strongly recommend the ScanSnap as a baseline option.
