Overview
Group assignments, tests, and forms are submitted by a singular member of your team. Before turning in your work, ensure that your group is aware of who will submit the assignment via Blackboard. Note that group discussions require participation from all members of your team as you are graded separately.
Guide
Enter your course and click on the group assignment. This will open a menu on the right side of your screen displaying the assignment guidelines and the current members of your team. Select “Start Attempt” to open the assignment.
Under the assignment instructions, there is an empty box. Click on this box to see your options. You may either type or paste a response in the empty space or use the paperclip icon to upload a file. Once you are finished, select “Submit”. If done correctly, your team will receive a submission receipt.
Continue Attempt
If you see “Continue Attempt” rather than “Start Attempt”, this means you or another member of your team has begun drafting their response and saved their work. You may select "Continue Attempt" to review and submit said draft.
Take Control
If “Take Control” appears in this space, it means that another member of your team has the assignment open and is working on their submission.
If you select this option, said group member’s name will appear at the top of your screen and a message will appear on their screen that you are requesting control. In this case, contact your team member to ensure that you may begin drafting your submission.
If the “Take control” message appears on your screen as you are working on your submission, you must choose between denying or accepting it. Regardless of your choice, your work will be saved. Selecting "Ignore" will deny the other student access, while selecting "Give Control" will allow the other user to edit and submit the materials.
If you cannot gain control of a group assignment and are unable to communicate with your team, contact the help desk for assistance.
