Scantron Test Scoring Services

 Important note about paper test scanning and scoring services 
Paper form test scanning and scoring services offered through the Office of Information Technology Help Desk will be discontinued after the fall 2022 semester concludes in December.

Potentially-affected faculty are encouraged to prepare accordingly, and review alternative electronic assessment options.

General Information

The OIT Help Desk provides test and survey optical scanning using Scantron technology. Bubble sheets are scored and results are returned along with a number of useful reports to your CMU email account.

Scanning services may be requested at the Help Desk Monday through Friday, 8AM-5PM (hours may vary due to holidays and other university closures). Tests are scanned while you wait.


All faculty and staff members. Graduate/student assistants may request test scanning services if teaching classes or acting on behalf of their supervisor.


The actual test scanning services are provided at no charge. Test and survey response forms are available for purchase from University Stores, with the exception of Control Sheets, which are available from the Help Desk free of charge.
