CITI Program Training: Detroit Medical Center (DMC) clinical staff

Body

CITI training, sometimes pronounced as “City” training, is required of all researchers affiliated with CMU, including those in the hospitals and clinical sites in Saginaw and Detroit. These users may not have an assigned Global ID, which requires them to follow a different process to register for CITI training that bypasses Single Sign On (SSO).

Account Registration

  1. Visit https://www.citiprogram.org/ and select “Register”
  2. Next, “Select Organization Affiliation” and search for: “Central Michigan University – Detroit”
  3. Agree to the Terms of Service, affiliate confirmation, and continue through account creation.

NOTE: When asked for a required institution Email, the user may just enter their DMC email address a second time.

Logging In and Organization Affiliation

Individuals without an assigned CMU Global ID will log in through the CITI Program login window and not through “Login Through My Organization.” Unless they already have an account through Wayne State University (WSU). In this case, they will need to add the proper CMU organization affiliation.

  1. Once logged in, visit the “My Courses” page. This is the home page after login.
  2. Next, click the “Add Institutional Affiliation” or “add an affiliation” button located in the center of the page.
  3. Search for “Central Michigan University – Detroit”. This is important as it will allow the users to complete the proper CITI training courses without being prompted for SSO.

NOTE: If a user has already afflicted with “Central Michigan University” or “Central Michigan University (SSO),” they can add the “- Detroit” affliction and remove the incorrect entry by clicking the “remove an affiliation” from the My Courses page.
