Note - If a test with LockDown Browser (LDB) enabled is copied over to Ultra from Bb Original, the test comes over with the "Access Code Required" setting enabled.  This setting is independent to the LDB settings and should not be turned on as it blocks student access to the exam. The Access Code Required field must be toggled to Off in the Assessment Settings Panel accessed through the Gear Icon.   

 

Student Experience Taking a Lockdown Browser Exam

Prior to taking a LDB Test, the Respondus LockDown Browser must be installed on the student's computer. The student will access the LDB test directly from Blackboard in a standard web browser (ex chrome or firefox). They will navigate to the exam in the course, launch the exam to open LDB, then proceed to take the test in the LDB.

If the student tries to open a LockDown Browser (LDB) test directly in the LDB and not from within the Blackboard course, the message below is displayed:

 

Upon launching the LDB test from Bb, the message below will be displayed.  After clicking the Open LockDown Browser button, the test will open in LDB:

 

Once completed with the test, the student will click on the Submit button to submit their test for grading:

 

After submitting, DO NOT immediately close the LockDown Browser (LDB) as LDB has to upload all your test data to Blackboard.  If you see the message below, please wait as requested:

 

Once submitted into Blackboard, the below message will indicate a successful submission:
