Watermark - Issues Logging In (including Planning and Self-Study and Curriculum Strategy)

Summary

Watermark Curriculum Strategy and Planning and Self-Study log in issues can be resolved by clearing the browser cache.

Body

Clearing your cache will solve many log in issues in the Curriculum Strategy system. Your browser may save certain images or webpages to make page loading quicker the next time you visit a site. While this is helpful, temporary internet files may interfere with content you want to enter on a page or in a form or when viewing newly published content. Clearing your browser of these stored files is recommended on a periodic basis.

In most computer-based web browsers, to open the menus used to clear your cache, cookies, and history, press Ctrl-Shift-Delete (Windows) or Command-Shift-Delete (Mac). To know more about your particular browser, see below. Note: Your browser needs to be open to complete any of the steps below!

Chrome

To manually clear your cache, go to Menu (the three tiered “hamburger” on the upper right), More Tools>Clear browsing data... Select “Clear browsing data.” Under Basic, check "Cached images and files" from the menu (Browsing History and Cookies should not be checked, uncheck if they are). On the "Time range" drop down, select "All time". Click “Clear data” to finish.

Alternatively, view the page or login using an incognito window to see changes made to live pages - this window does not store cached pages. Using this window can help to confirm if the issue you are facing is a cache issue or not.

Firefox PC

In Mozilla’s Firefox browser, clear the cache from the “Clear All History” area in the browser’s Options. Once there, check “Cache” and select the "Eveything" option from the "Time range to clear" dropdown. Then click “OK”

You can also clear from Firefox’s Menu button (the three-tiered “hamburger” button) via “Options,” then “Privacy,” and finally the “clear your recent history” link.

Firefox Mac

Click on Firefox in the menu bar, then “Preferences.” Click on “Advanced,” and then “Network.” Click on “Clear Now” in the “Cached Web Content” section to finish.

Safari Mac

First click on Safari in the menu bar and then select “Empty cache.” Next, click on the “Empty” button. Finally, click on the refresh icon. You can also type Option-Command-E with your keyboard.
Safari PC

If the top menu is not visible, click the ALT key. Select “Edit” in the menu bar. Click on “Empty Cache…” in the menu, and then “Empty” in the pop-up window.

Edge

In Microsoft’s Edge browser, included in their newer versions of Windows, clearing the cache is done via the “Clear browsing data” menu. Once open, check “Cached data” and “files” and then tap or click “Clear.”

Internet Explorer*

Microsoft stopped its support for Internet Explorer in 2021, so we advise to use an up to date browser.

Curriculum Strategy recommends you use the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, or Safari as your browser. Some browsers will update automatically, but we suggest verifying your version from time to time.
