Perceptive Content: Error - Adobe PDF and G42 Files Won't Open Until the End-user Clicks Launch Associated Application

Summary

Adobe PDF and G42 files won't open until the end-user clicks "Launch Associated Application"

Body

We have seen this issue since the upgrade to EP2 in late December of 2020.

There are a few different scenarios. First would be the PDF's not opening inside the ImageNow Viewer until the end-user clicks Launch Associated Application. The second scenario is less frequent but has shown itself on certain documents. Even after clicking "Launch associated Application" the end-user gets an error that says the system can not open a G42 file because there is no associated application.

This was caused when the client update was pushed through SCCM and we have corrected that issue so that it will not happen again.

To fix this problem the end-users do NOT need admin rights they can do it on their own.
