Perceptive Content: Install Fujitsu fi-6240 Scanner

NOTE: These steps require local administrator privileges. If you are not an administrator on your computer or do not feel comfortable installing or configuring hardware, please contact the Help Desk for assistance.

NOTE: While this document is written specifically for the fi-6240 model, it will also work with the similar model Fujitsu fi-6140 scanner. In the steps where the 6240 model is called out, select 6140 instead.

1. Disconnect the scanner from the computer if it is currently connected and does not reconnect until prompted to do so
    
2. Install TWAIN Driver
   1. As an administrator, run \\imagenow-prd\client\Scanner Files\Fujitsu 6140-6240 Setup - Red Disk/install.exe
   2. At the Fujitsu Image Scanner Setup screen, click Install Products
   3. At the Install Products screen, click TWAIN Driver
   4. On the Error Recovery Guide pop up, click No
   5. At the Choose Setup Language screen, make sure English is selected as the language and click Next
   6. At the Welcome screen, click Next
   7. At the Information screen, click Next
   8. At the License Agreement screen, click Yes to accept the License Agreement
   9. At the Choose Destination Location screen, leave the default value (C:\Program Files (x86)\fjtwain) and click Next
   10. At the Select Features screen, ensure all features are selected (TWAIN Driver, TWAIN Manager, Support Tools) and click Next
   11. At the Select Program Folder screen, leave the default value (Scanner Utility for Microsoft Windows) and click Next
   12. At the Start Copying Files screen, click Next to begin the installation
   13. Allow the installation some time to complete
   14. When complete, select Yes to reboot the computer and click Finish
        
3. Install VirtualReScan (VRS)
   1. As an administrator, run \\imagenow-prd\client\Scanner Files\VRS - Blue Disk\setup.exe
   2. At the Welcome screen, click Next
   3. At the License Agreement screen, select I accept the terms in the license agreement and click Next
   4. At the Destination Folder screen, leave the default value (C:\Program Files (x86)\Kofax\ImgCtls) and click Next
   5. At the Certified Scanners list, select Fujitsu fi-6240 and click Next
   6. At the Ready to Install the Program screen, click Install to begin the installation
   7. Allow the installation some time to complete
   8. At the Completed screen, click Finish
   9. At the prompt to reboot, click Yes to restart the computer
       
4. Connect the scanner to the computer and turn it on
    
5. Install scanner drivers
   1. As an administrator, run \\imagenow-prd\client\Scanner Files\VRS - Blue Disk\Scanner Drivers\Fujitsu\CI-fi-6240.exe
   2. Allow the installation some time to complete
   3. At the installation success screen, click Finish

The scanner installation is complete. In order to use the new scanner, log in to Perceptive Content as a user with the ability to manage capture profiles and edit as required.
