Perceptive Content: Error - Could Not Find an Application Window That Matches the <Application Plan Name> Application Plan

Popup error "Could not find an application window that matches the <application plan name> application plan" is presented with attempting to capture a document.

Error

When capturing a document, either through the ImageNow printer or via linking a document when looking at a batch, the user is presented with a popup window with the following error message:

Could not find an application window that matches the <application plan name> application plan.

 

This error happens when a Perceptive Content application plan associated with another application, such as SAP, cannot find a window open.

 

NOTE: Make sure the end-user has the correct Default Application Plan selected. Print to Single always uses the Default Application Plan.

 

Causes

Multiple options:

• Either they have the wrong application plan selected

OR

• The user does not have the SAP screen open associated with that application plan (that includes having the SAP Screen minimized to the taskbar it must be open)

OR

• The end-user has changed the visualization settings in SAP (options).
• This error can be caused by the following setting being enabled in the SAP client.
  Setting is found in SAP GUI Options, under Interaction Design, Under Visualization 2
  'Window Title: Show System name in taskbar button'
  If this setting is enabled, the server host name of the SAP application is displayed in the SAP window title, and perceptive will fail to match the title, generating this error.

Solution

1. Confirm that the correct Default Application Plan is selected from the Perceptive Content Tool Bar Application drop-down (right-click to Set as Default action)
2. For a LearnMode Application Plan, open the associated application
   • This is typically SAP unless specifically denoted in the name of the App Plan, such as:
     • OSFA-Retrieve Financial Aid (ProSam)
3. Navigate to the appropriate screen in the associated application
   • The associated screen will vary from application to application
   • Manual application plans, typically denoted with Manual at the end of the name, do not link to an outside source, such as:
     • FAS-Grants-Invoice-WF (Manual)
     • HR-Benefit-Accounts (Manual)
   • For SAP-related Application Plans, the required screen is typically found in parentheses at the end of the name, such as:
     • ADM-Student Files (Student Screens)
     • FAS-AP-ACH (FK03)
     • FAS-Grants-Contracts (ZFAP03)
     • REG-Transfer Regulations (PIQAGM)
4. Ensure the associated application is not minimized
   • The application does not need to be on top of other windows, but must not be minimized to the taskbar
5. Try to capture the document again
